50 Scary-Good Halloween Nail Art Ideas for October

And with the addition of a sweet ghost peek-a-booing over a French tip accent nail, the look becomes even more festive. Light orange, plaid-like grids combined with black French tips are a ghoulishly good combo. Add adorable hand-painted ghosts and the design gets even better.

Halloween Nails Ideas #24

After doing your French nails, draw blood droplets with a fine detail brush and essie’s shade called not red-y for bed in varying sizes. Pairing deep purple with green can evoke a witchy charm, while the dynamic contrast of blood red against metallic gold adds a touch of opulence to your Halloween look. Begin with a high-quality base coat to create a smooth canvas, followed by layers of your chosen colors and designs. It features gold-encompassed skulls with tons of dimension and life-like qualities.

Bright Eyeballs

At first glance, all we see is a minimalist white and nude nail art design that goes with any look and that you won’t get sick of after a few days. The wrapped up mummy and spider webs complement the glitter flecks frightfully well, and the color palette keeps this modern and chic. Fiery flames are a favorite Halloween nail art look because they’re bold, attention-grabbing, and drop-dead gorgeous. Plus, with bold orange and black colors, they complement so many costumes—devil, warlock, bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos—you name it. Cover them in intricate drops of blood red polish for the most stylish-meets-spooky Halloween mani ever.

Bloody Ombré

Finish with a matte top coat like Essie’s Gel Couture Matte. If your favorite holiday is Halloween and your favorite color is pink, this is the design for you. @Spellbound.nailartistry took all of the typical Halloween themes and made them pink.

Apply a green base before grabbing a striping brush to create stitches (aka short horizontal lines with vertical lines striking through them). The holiday really peaks at nighttime (you know when the ghosts, ghouls and witches come out to play). First, coat your nails with a striking black polish before showing off your art skills with some clouds, stars and, of course, the moon.

Halloween Nails Design #13: Bloody Nails

If we didn’t know better, we’d swear this realistic neon Halloween nail art design requires four AAA batteries. The special effects glow over a black background is super unique and will have everyone doing a double take. Bring your own boos to your next Halloween gathering with this easy spider web and ghost nail art. Paint webs on one nail or all, then top it off with a sheet ghost accent nail for a mani that’ll put anyone in the Halloween spirit.

Disney lovers have a way of incorporating the brand's most loved characters into everyday life and Halloween is no exception. Paint black Mickey Mouse silhouettes over an orange base and add Mickey ears to pumpkins and ghosts for a unique, Disney-approved look. This understated manicure definitely lightens the mood of the dark holiday.

Once you start to really look at the design, it really isn’t that hard to recreate. These nails by @onenailtorulethemall will catch everyone’s eye. Whether you prefer short and chic, simple and stylish, or gel and acrylic durability, these spooky cute ideas are here to ignite your creativity.

Greenish Ghouls

But if this look feels too elaborate for your style, you can modify the design by painting simple black-and-gold skulls on each nail. Grab your favorite bell bottoms and bodysuit, and pair them with this flower-inspired art. The colors are bright and fun, which is quite unexpected for the season. Give your black polish a creepy-cool upgrade with a dark red to black ombré — it's a subtle nod to Halloween without being too over the top.

This intricate nail design is what horror fan dreams are made of. Each nail features scenes from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. Just don't forget to give your nail artist advance notice if you plan to ask for these detailed Halloween nails. When it comes time to wear your costume on Oct. 31, don't forget to paint a nail design to match. We found styles even the Sanderson Sisters would approve of.

Tortoise nails will always be a popular trend, so how about rocking them with a Halloween twist? First, apply a base coat before grabbing all of your go-to autumn colors (like orange, brown and yellow). Next, grab a nail brush and your first color and begin dabbing spots all over your nail. Continue that same technique using a second color (and a third and so on).

Marissa has a bachelor's degree in journalism and started her career as a beauty editor at Hearst Magazines over ten years ago. When she’s not writing, you can find her taking a hot bath or spending time with her new baby boy. Devil horns and pitchforks wrapped around the tips of nails feel extra naughty. For the fiery red, opt for OPI nail lacquer in Kiss My Aries.

This abstract marble effect reminds us of the fall foliage that is sure to be covering the sidewalks this Halloween. The mirror-like shine captures your attention and adds to the beauty of the overall look. Your friends will ask how you managed to conjure up this design. Trick the eye into seeing a never-ending snake slither its way across your hands.

If there's one thing a true Disney fan loves to do, it's look for hidden Mickeys. Spoiler alert—the main mouse can be seen masquerading as itty bitty bats in this design. Reminiscent of a werewolf, this artistic creation is truly genius, and Halloween color-appropriate, might we add. This design is definitely reserved for only the bravest of ghouls out there. Celebrate the Day of the Dead with these hot-pink tips sprinkled with sugar skulls and bones. Use a dotting tool to paint on stars, moons, and sugar skulls against alternating cream and suede backgrounds.

Not all Halloween nail art has to be spiders, black cats and pumpkins. There’s no right way to do this look just let the brush do the work by creating small strokes with each color. After swiping on black polish as a base color, try your hand at painting on yellow cat eyes using a small brush. Terra-cotta nails are the perfect backdrop for spider-inspired designs.

Sure, it’s one of the creepiest animated flicks ever, but you have to admit this design is pretty cool. Enter an alternate world and decorate each nail inspired by Coraline (using a thin brush for the finer details). Whether you call it the crocodile or alligator style, this design is timeless and it continues to be a popular pick for Halloween. The animal print packs a statement and works with any color you choose (though black is our favorite shade to show off the textured effect). Dressing up as one of our favorite Disney villains never get old.

CABRILLO BEACH BATH HOUSE City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks

bath house cultural center

The Bath House (one of the first Art Deco buildings in the southwest) is a Dallas Landmark and was originally completed in 1930. It was designed by Dallas architect Jon Carsey, who was influenced by the Paris Exposition of 1925. When it opened, the Municipal Bath House (as it was then known) was used by the citizens of Dallas as an escape from the summer heat. There was a sandy beach that extended from the building out into the lake, locker rooms on the ground floor and concession stands in the basement. In 1958 the Bath House closed and swimming was prohibited to allow the lake to be used as a water supply for the city.

What We Support

The festival serves as a showcase for various Dallas independent theatres without a permanent home and has become a signature event for the Bath House Cultural Center. "People are getting more and more interested in Japanese culture," says Executive Director Kazumi Teune. "Our mission is to share the Japanese culture in Philadelphia. "The setting, the architecture, it's all there to convey a sense of feeling," Polyakov says. "The idea of peace and emptiness and quiet beauty were very important in 16th-century Japan. These traditions have carried on for hundreds of years, including today."

The Bath House Cultural Center is the first of six neighborhood cultural centers built and operated by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs. It is located on the east shore of White Rock Lake in east Dallas, Texas (USA). The Bath House remained a social and recreational hot spot for over two decades, but was forced to close in 1953 when swimming in White Rock Lake was discontinued. The majestic building sat vacant until 1978 when, urged and supported by a dedicated group of neighborhood arts activists, the City of Dallas announced plans to restore the building.

The exhibition spaces are a vital resource for the visual arts community in Dallas and North Texas. The galleries feature solo and group exhibitions that include the popular annual El Corazón, ART214, and Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) shows. In addition to the exhibitions, our visual art calendar includes gallery talks, workshops, demonstrations, curatorial collaborations, and art sales, which create an environment where both artist and viewer can be creative.

Celebrate Spring Equinox at the Bath House

In August of 1981, the citizens of East Dallas celebrated the birth of the City’s first neighborhood cultural center. From ancient civilizations to the present day, artists have been drawn to the symbolic richness and emotional resonance embedded in depictions of this universal symbol. Contemporary artists, including the fifty-nine that are featured in the 2024 El Corazón show, continue this tradition by incorporating the heart into their creations, adding their unique perspectives to the ongoing narrative of its significance in art. Last week we put out a call to hear about Black-owned museums, galleries, and art spaces that we might not know about and as of this writing, there are twenty-three spaces on our list.

People are embracing shogun culture, anime, samurai, sake and it's all here. Throughout the year we have programs that celebrate the Japanese culture." "The setting, the architecture, it's all there to convey a sense of feeling," Polyakov says. "The idea of peace and emptiness and quiet beauty were very important in 16th-century Japan. These traditions have carried on for hundreds of years, including today."

In addition to the art sale, there is food, music and a silent auction. Built in 1930 on what were then the rural shores of White Rock Lake, the “Old Bath House” was one of the first uses of Art Deco architecture in the southwest. The building provided lockers, changing rooms, rentable swim suits and concessions for the thousands of people that drove from all over North Texas to swim in the lake. The 116-seat Bath House theater is home to many of Dallas’ finest theater companies.

Many people reach a deep state of physical relaxation while becoming more awake and aware of their inner world during this event. Bath House Cultural Center first opened its doors in 1930 as an actual bathhouse for the thousands of people who came to swim in White Rock Lake.

In 1980, the Dallas City Arts Program, the Park and Recreation Department and the East Dallas Chamber of Commerce joined together to renovate the old Bath House. Now the Bath House Cultural Center is home to a 116-seat black box theater, three galleries, the White Rock Lake Museum, and other gathering places. The Bath House hosts numerous art exhibitions, theater and dance performances, literature and poetry readings, and other local events. It is also the host venue of the annual Festival of Independent Theatres (FIT). Today the Bath House Cultural Center serves the artists and independent theatres of Dallas.

Chicago Park District took over operation of the city-owned bath houses in the 1970s. Today, the building has been carefully renovated into an upscale community and business meeting space after serving as a private residence for decades. The monumental main room has been redesigned as a serene yet functional space complete with state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities and a deluxe catering kitchen.
